Women's Shelter Bio

The Gjoa Haven Women’s Shelter, opened in February 2025. It provides temporary housing and a safe, supportive, and confidential environment for women experiencing family violence, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, or physical abuse. Our shelter offers eight beds, providing a secure and welcoming space for women and their children.

We are committed to delivering culturally sensitive, trauma-informed care that honours Inuit values, supports healing and empowers women to regain stability and independence.
