The Mayor and Council of the Hamlet of Gjoa Haven provide leadership and direction for the community, working collaboratively to serve the needs and priorities of residents. Elected by the community, they are responsible for setting policies, guiding local initiatives, and ensuring the effective delivery of municipal programs and services. Guided by Inuit values and community input, the Mayor and Council are committed to transparency, accountability, and sustainable development, while honoring the cultural traditions and unique identity of Gjoa Haven.
